Singapore Business Review bags Business Trade Media of the Year at the 2017 MPAS Awards

The winners were presented to around 200 guests.

Singapore Business Review was once again lauded as the Business Trade Media of the Year at 2017 Media Publishers Association of Singapore (MPAS) Awards and Media Ball. The annual MPAS Awards recognises the best practices and top talents within Singapore’s magazine publishing industry.

Published by the Charlton Media Group, the Singapore Business Review magazine showcases key analyses on the region’s top issues and targets Singapore's business elite including CEOs and executives. It remains committed to producing top-notch content to its growing number of readers.

The prestigious event was graced by His Excellency Dmytro Senik, Ukraine Ambassador to Singapore, Cavaliere Giovanni Viterale, general manager of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore and representatives from the Info-communications Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA).

This year saw a record number of nominations which were judged by an esteemed panel of judges. Among these are Marina Mathews, founder & managing director of Chrysler Communications; Gilles Demptos, director at WAN-IFRA; Lars Voedisch, managing director & principal consultant at PRecious Communications; Lee Ching Chew, managing director at Mandate Communications; Phil Bedford, head of marketing communications at Diebold Nixdorf; Honey Lee, managing Director at HEAT Pte Ltd; Joseph Barratt, CEO of Mutant Communications; Christel Quek, vice president for APAC at Brandwatch; Benjamin Lee, creative director for Social Media at DDB Tribal Worldwide; Irene Ho, CEO at The Luxury Network; Gabriel Chan, Group Account Director at Bless Inc.; Lynda Williams, founder & managing director at Vim & Vigour PR; and Marco Gilmour, senior consultant at Bell Pottinger.

Charlton Media Group also received Financial Trade Media of the Year for Asian Banking and Finance Magazine.

The 2017 MPAS Awards and Media Ball was held at the Fullerton Hotel Singapore last September 26, and was attended by around 200 guests.

Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
