Beyond the bedside: How Taiwan Excellence aims to power smart, resilient hospital infrastructure across Asia
At Medical Fair Asia 2026, four leading Taiwanese brands will demonstrate integrated solutions spanning smart ICU beds, ultra-portable imaging, point-of-care diagnostics, and industrial data storage.
Building next-generation hospital resilience
Healthcare systems across Southeast Asia face a double-edged challenge: rapidly ageing populations and persistent clinical workforce shortages. In response, hospital administrators are pivoting away from isolated equipment upgrades towards holistic infrastructure resilience. Modern facility management demands seamless synergy between smart ward equipment, decentralised bedside diagnostics, and resilient data architectures that minimise caregiver burnout whilst elevating patient safety.
At Medical Fair Asia 2026, which will be held on 9–11 September at Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Singapore, the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion (Booth No. 2H01) will showcase how Taiwanese medical innovators are solving these operational bottlenecks. Sponsored by the International Trade Administration (TITA) and executed by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) under the theme “From Taiwan with Care – Activate the Future of Wellness,” the pavilion highlights four standout pioneers driving digital transformation across the regional healthcare ecosystem.
“As healthcare delivery expands beyond hospital walls, equipping clinicians with ultra-portable, low-radiation diagnostic tools is essential. Taiwan Excellence brings together hardware reliability and advanced technology to ensure high-quality care is accessible wherever the patient is," notes Megan Liu, Director of the TAITRA Singapore Office.
Decentralised point-of-care & ultra-portable diagnostics
Expanding clinical care beyond traditional hospital walls requires lightweight, high-precision equipment designed for immediate point-of-care deployment.
Energy Resources International Co., Ltd. (Roentxen ERI) is transforming diagnostic access with its CVX Series Portable X-Ray. Weighing just 3.2 kg, this battery-operated handheld radiography unit utilises RSNA award-winning Carbon Nanotube (CNT) Cold Cathode technology. Delivering high-resolution digital imaging at just 25% of standard radiation doses and reducing leakage rates to 1/1000 of regulatory limits, the CVX Series enables safe bedside imaging outside lead-lined rooms. Offering comprehensive system integration through wireless DR panel and PACS, CVX Portable X-Ray serves as an essential diagnostic asset for Hospital-at-Home (HaH) initiatives, emergency care, and disaster response operations.
Complementing portable imaging, APEX BIOTECHNOLOGY CORP (APEXBIO) brings over 25 years of biosensor expertise to rapid diagnostic screening. Its Eclipse PLUS Multi-Purpose Analyzer delivers automated, quantitative point-of-care measurements for Glycohemoglobin (HbA1c) from whole blood, as well as Microalbumin, Creatinine, and Albumin/Creatinine Ratio (ACR) from urine. By supplying immediate, laboratory-grade diagnostic clarity at the bedside, APEXBIO empowers clinicians across 80 countries to manage diabetes and renal health efficiently, bypassing lab queue delays.
Smart ward automation & intensive care safety
Relieving nurse fatigue whilst ensuring zero-compromise patient safety is a critical priority for intensive care units (ICUs) and general wards.
Joson-Care Enterprise Co., Ltd. addresses this balance with its ES-19HD ICU Electric Hospital Trendelenburg Bed. Built to rigorous international quality and safety standards – including ISO13485 and IEC 60601-2-52 – the ES-19HD provides five automated functional modes: head adjustment, knee adjustment, bed elevation, auto-chair positioning, and Trendelenburg tilting. Engineered specifically for intensive care, the bed features an integrated X-ray translucent backrest holder and a heavy-duty powder-coated steel frame with a durable ABS base. By streamlining patient repositioning, Joson-Care reduces physical strain on nursing staff whilst enhancing patient comfort.
Mission-critical industrial storage infrastructure
Underpinning all digital wards, bedside diagnostic tools, and hospital management software is the requirement for uncompromised data integrity.
Transcend Information Inc. safeguards hospital networks with its SSD475P 2.5" SATA SSD – Engineered specifically for mission-critical healthcare computing, the SSD475P features hardware-based Power Loss Protection (PLP). During unexpected hospital power outages, built-in Polymer Hybrid EC capacitors supply emergency power to the controller and DRAM cache, preventing data corruption and preserving patient records. Powered by 112-layer 3D NAND flash, featuring wide operating temperature endurance (-40°C to 85°C) and available in capacities up to 8TB, Transcend delivers the storage reliability and capacity required for continuous 24/7 healthcare operations.
Fostering regional supply chain partnerships
"Go Healthy with Taiwan" is a global initiative launched by TITA and TAITRA to drive healthcare innovation worldwide. Designed as a global proposal competition, the campaign invites international innovators to co-create next-generation healthcare solutions. Aligned with the spirit of this initiative, four featured exhibitors are demonstrating how Taiwan’s hardware reliability and manufacturing excellence reinforce and elevate Southeast Asia’s medical supply chains.
Attendees can experience live technology demonstrations, attend the Opening Ceremony on 9 September at 2:00 PM, and participate in daily networking sessions to establish strategic B2B partnerships.
