Chart of the Day: Change in Singaporeans’ media consumption

Around 31% would visit websites and apps more in the next 12 months.

This chart from YouGov’s "The Global Media Landscape – What does the future hold?" report showed that 31% of Singaporeans are expecting to increase their visit to websites and apps over the next 12 months which poses the biggest opportunity for brands and marketers.

Aside from this 57% of the residents are expecting to maintain current levels of visits to websites and apps.

The YouGov report also showed that streaming video and interacting with social media are also expected to see the biggest increase in media consumption at 22% each, followed by streaming music at 18%.

On the other hand, some activities are expected to see a drop in media consumption led by watching movies at the movie theatre with 33% expecting that they would do less of it.

Attending live in-person events is also expected to decline a t24%, and watching live and non-live TV at 22% each.

The Singapore data involved a sample of 1,066 respondents aged 18 and above.

Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
