Chart of the Day: Banking hailed as most preferred industry by undergraduates
JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs are amongst the most attractive employers in the business sector.
This chart from research firm Universum shows that 23% of students would prefer to work for banks after graduating, making it the most preferred industry. The sector is also the top choice of students globally.
This is followed by arts, entertainment and recreation segment at 17%, public sector and governmental agencies and education and financial services sectors both scored 16% and the educational and scientific institutions at 14%.
The report also revealed the most attractive employers in the business sector, led by Google, JP Morgan, Singapore Airlines, DBS, Walt Disney Company, Goldman Sachs, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Changi Airport Group, Ernst & Young (EY) and Apple.
In addition, students in Generation Y are expecting a monthly salary of $3,732 whilst those from Generation Y expects $3,612.
