8 out of 10 Singaporean Millennials and Gen Zs prefer off-peak travel
67% believe they can accomplish more during these quieter periods.
About 79% of Millennials and Generation Zs in Singapore prefer travelling traveling during off-peak seasons.
According to a survey by Marriott Bonvoy, Gen Z and Millennials are strategic about their travel plans to enhance their overall trip experience.
Approximately 71% of these generations prefer travelling during off-peak seasons to avoid crowds and make the most of their journeys. At least 67% believe they can accomplish more during these quieter periods, whilst 77% return from their vacations feeling refreshed and revitalised. The report said that 73% of Gen Zs and Millennials in the APAC region plan to take at least two trips in 2024. About 91% intend to spend the same or more on travel than last year.
Many are also willing to reduce spending on dining out (60%), shopping (57%), and daily coffee (54%) to allocate more for holidays.
APEC's Gen Z and Millennials prioritise travel rewards, often using travel-linked credit cards for daily spending and redeeming loyalty points for local experiences.
Hotel choice is also crucial for these travellers, with 99% believing it can enhance or ruin their trip. They seek hotels offering local experiences (79%) and reflecting destination culture (84%).

The report showed that Australian, Indonesian, and Singaporean Gen Z and Millennials prioritise quality factors such as hotel reputation and location when deciding to splurge on travel.
Whilst they look for value, they are willing to invest more in hotels, prioritising room quality (48%) and location (42%).
Modern conveniences like mobile customer service (61%), reliable WiFi (68%), and flexible check-out (64%) also matter more than traditional perks like lounge access (42%).
