MTQ Corporation names Ong Eng Yew as independent director

The appointment is non-executive and effective on October 28, 2016.

Mr. Ong, 44, is the son of Ong Choo Eng who has recently resigned as a director of the company.

According to a release, he graduated with a Bachelor of Law (Second Class Upper Division) from University College London and holds a Master of Science (Investment Management) from Cass Business School and a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD.

He joined Hwa Hong Corporation as manager for investments on August 1, 2008. He is responsible for the group’s business development and investment activities.

Prior to joining Hwa Hong, Mr. Ong has worked in OCBC Bank, Vickers Ballas, DBS Bank, CIMB Group and Parkway Life Real Estate Investment Trust. His career has been in corporate finance and in real estate investment and management in Singapore and the United Kingdom. He is also an independent director of Singapore Reinsurance Corporation.
