Mermaid Maritime Public Company names Jitender Pal Verma as non-executive director

He is a fellow chartered accountant (FCA).

Mr. Verma, 52, has been group chief financial officer and senior executive vice president at Thoresen Thai Agencies Public Company since May 13, 2015. He was executive director and chief financial officer at Jindal Stainless from November 2011 to March 31, 2015 and was also its executive director of finance from February 9, 2012 to March 25, 2015.

He was chief financial officer and acting managing director at POSCO - Thainox Stainless Public Company from August 2005 to October 2011. He was also finance director of Asia Dole Asia, Philippines from August 2003 to August 2005. He was Asia regional treasurer for Dole Food Company, Hong Kong from April 2002 to August 2003. He was finance director and controller for Dole Thailand from April 1998 to April 2002. He was finance director for Seagate Technology from August 1996 to February 1998.

He has been a non-executive director at Mermaid Maritime Public Company Limited since October 28, 2016. He is also director for Thoresen Shipping Singapore, Thoresen & Company (Bangkok), Soleado Holdings, Gulf Agencies Company (Thailand), GAC Thoresen Logistics, Petrolift, Chidlom Marine Services & Suppliers, Thoresen Shipping FZE, and Fearnleys (Thailand). In the past, he was director for Thainox Stainless Public Company and Thoresen Thai Agencies Public Company. He was director for Jindal Stainless from February 9, 2012 to March 25, 2015, for POSCO Thainox Public from February 1, 2006 to October 14, 2011.

Mr. Verma holds a Bachelor Degree in Commerce. He has also completed the Director Certification Program No. 78/2006 from the Thai Institute of Directors Association (IOD).
