Chan Hon Chew joins Keppel as group CFO

He will replace Loh Chin Hua, who will be appointed as CEO of Keppel Container Line.

Keppel announced the appointment of Chan Hon Chew as group chief financial officer effective 1 February 2014.

Mr Chan, 48, was interviewed by senior management and members of the Nominating Committee. The assessment was that he has very deep and broad financial and accounting experience, and comes with very strong credentials as CFO.

Mr Chan will be responsible for Keppel Group's financial functions, including managing capital, finance, treasury and tax, as well as legal matters. He will support the CEO of Keppel Container Line in Keppel Group's strategic business planning process and participate in all major investment initiatives and decisions, providing sound financing options and optimal structuring of major projects, in addition to building and enhancing shareholder and investor relations, according to a Keppel report.

He is currently senior vice president for finance of Singapore Airlines since June 2006. Before this, he was divisional vice president for finance from 2003 to May 2006
