Singapore joins Verra and Gold Standard to develop carbon crediting playbook
This initiative will accelerate the achievement of Nationally Determined Contributions.
Singapore's National Climate Change Secretariat (NCCS), Verra, and Gold Standard have joined hands to help countries better utilise carbon crediting programs to achieve their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement.
To achieve this, the partners will develop a playbook outlining consistent and streamlined standard operating procedures.
The partners are still studying how governments and carbon crediting programs can work together to ensure a seamless implementation.
The partners will engage and seek feedback from other countries and independent carbon crediting programmes and aim to complete the playbook by mid-2024.
