SG, NZ cooperate on low-carbon hydrogen

Singapore is working on an international network for low-carbon hydrogen cooperation.

Singapore and New Zealand signed an Arrangement regarding Cooperation on Low-Carbon Hydrogen on 15 July.

The arrangement will facilitate opportunities between the two countries to: (i) chart standards and certifications and scale up their respective hydrogen economies, (ii) establish supply chains for low-carbon hydrogen and its derivatives, (iii) conduct joint research, development, and deployment studies, and (iv) strengthen networks and partnerships.

This is a part of Singapore’s goal to build an international network for low-carbon hydrogen cooperation and strengthen its hub capabilities within the low-carbon hydrogen value chain.

The low-carbon technologies will support Singapore’s efforts to meet its climate change commitments as set out in the enhanced 2030 Nationally Determined Contribution and Long-Term Low-Emissions Development Strategy, and the Singapore Green Plan 2030.

Singapore has signed similar agreements with Singapore and Chile.
