Keppel O&M finalises offshore substations for Ørsted

These stations are located in Taiwan’s Greater Changhua.

Keppel Offshore & Marine has completed the construction of two offshore substations for Ørsted.

These will be located in Taiwan’s Greater Changhua 1 and 2a Offshore Wind Farms. 

Engineering, procurement, and construction of the two unmanned offshore wind farm 600-megawatt substations were completed with a perfect safety record. 

The modules have a combined weight of more than 8,000 metric tons and are expected to sail away in late October 2021. These will be integrated with the jacket foundations standing in the Taiwan Straits. Keppel O&M will oversee the integration of these modules.

When completed, Greater Changhua 1 and 2a will be Taiwan’s first far shore and large-scale offshore wind farms.
