Seriously, Singapore is just 37th in world's most expensive gas list

Its $6.29 per gallon of gasoline.

According to Bloomberg's gas prices index, Singapore ranked 37th in the list as it priced $6.29 per gallon of gasoline. The densely urban islands of Singapore, which is made up of 63 separate bodies of land, have one of the smallest networks of roads, spanning just 2,085 miles.

Singapore is among the world's 10 biggest oil importers. Despite its reliance on foreign oil, Singaporean drivers experience relatively little pain at the pump.

The average daily income is among the ranking's highest, at $139. The share of a day's wages needed to buy a gallon of gas is 4.5 percent.

Turkey topped the list as the country with the most expensive gas at $9.89 per gallon. European countries --Norway, Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Sweden, Belgium, France and Denmark--comprised the rest of the top 10.

Kuwait was billed as the country with the least expensive gasoline.
