Konrad Haedicke is a native from Germany, and graduated from the University of Kassel in History and Politics and also obtained teaching credentials. He speaks fluent German, English, and Russian. He has 5 years of working experience in Asia. While currently based in Singapore, Konrad has also worked in Russia, Ireland and Germany. He has worked in companies such as Hewlett Packard, Ketchum, Siemens. He is now the director of partnerships at Roomorama.

Konrad is a professional in the online travel industry, specializing in account management, digital marketing, affiliate marketing, and partnership building. He combines skills in digital marketing and business development to create campaigns, strategies, and synergies that deliver profit to the business and partners as well as utility to consumers.

What are your previous experiences and positions held that contributed to who you are as an entrepreneur today?
It's hard to say which experience contributed most to my career since I am seeing my professional career as a "work in progress." I am a trained teacher in History and Politics but decided to enter the e-commerce space and came to work in travel by coincidence.

I have started my career in a young and growing internet company and started as a business executive, working my way up to being the Director of Partnerships. My experience in travel is driven by the special point of view a vacation rental business has and by the fact that I could learn a great deal on the field, being exposed to clients and partners from day one. It helps you a lot in learning how to talk to companies.

What are your key business philosophies?
Treat others how you wish to be treated - Honesty, Respect, and Reliability.

Can you give us a glimpse of what you will talk about at the SBR Industry Insights Series?
Vacation rentals are not a competition to hotels but a niche complementing the travel space. I will also talk about the impact of short-term rentals in Singapore.
