Check out the winners in the second Malaysia International Business Awards

The awards were handed via digital and studio awards presentations.

The most outstanding international companies and startups were recognised at the Malaysia International Business Awards 2020 via awards presentations held throughout the month of September.

The awards programme aims to honour the most outstanding foreign companies with the most innovative projects and best practices that significantly enhanced the company’s business in the regional and global scene.

International companies from different industries that have strategically expanded into the region and contributed remarkably to Malaysia’s developing economy were evaluated based on uniqueness and innovation, effectiveness and impact, and dynamism.

The trophies were handed to the winning companies via digital and studio awards presentation, done by Singapore Business Review’s Managing Editor, Paul Howell, and Contributing Editor, Jonathan Di Rollo, respectively.

This year’s nominations were judged by a panel consisting of Andrew Heng, Group Managing Partner at Baker Tilly Malaysia; Chan Siew Mei, Partner, Head of Advisory at KPMG; Dato’ Robert Teo, Chairman at RSM Malaysia; Yee Wing Peng, Malaysia Managing Partner and SEA Chinese Services Group Leader at Deloitte; and Esther Yap, Partner, Audit at Mazars.

Norwex Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
Consumer Products - Durables

• Norwex Malaysia Sdn. Bhd was recognised for its ‘A Million Masks, A Million Thank Yous’ project where it donated more than 10,000 Norwex reusable face masks to St. John Ambulance of Malaysia (SJAM), and 500 pieces of Enviro Microfibre Cloth, Norwex flagship cleaning and hygiene product for the use of the ambulance and kidney dialysis centres in Malaysia to support the frontline healthcare professionals.

• Everise was lauded for its Bespoke Boost Business Intelligence (BI) platform, an effective Human + Bot, Blended AI Solution which enables first-level support handling by an AI Platform, before escalating to a live chat agent who can support pressing and complex matters.

Capgemini
IT Services

• Capgemini successfully implemented new front-end digital channels for Celcom, one of the leading telecommunications groups in Asia, driving an increase in online revenues of over 60% for the brand.

Lanotec Asia Pacific Pte Ltd
Marine and Offshore Engineering

• Lanotec Asia Pacific Pte Ltd was hailed for its environment friendly corrosion inhibitor and Lanolin environmental solutions. The company produces a range of high-performance lanolin-based, biodegradable and environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitors and lubricants, as well as industrial strength degreasers made from a blend of organic solvents and surfactants.

McDermott Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd
Oil & Gas

• Based on their strategy to relocate to a high value center and create an Engineering Center of Excellence in Kuala Lumpur, McDermott won new business supported by new engineering capability. One of the key projects for the Kuala Lumpur office was to execute the Sarawak Shell Berhad and SapuraOMV Pan Malaysia Transportation and Installation Projects

• Sam Media has been developing its own analytical tools to get ahead of what the industry requires. Their tools are being updated and altered continuously based on the requirements in the market, whilst their data science team sets ambitious goals to keep innovating.
