überGARD Pte Ltd bags Made in Singapore Award for Security and Safety

Their new touch series key management systems beefs up security controls.

Singapore Business Review acknowledged the most innovative products that have been established as industry game-changers during the recently concluded Made in Singapore and Designed in Singapore Awards.

Back on its second year to merit outstanding products manufactured and conceptualised in the country, this year's awards programme recognised companies who brought pride to Singaporean innovation and workmanship.

überGARD Pte Ltd bagged the Made in Singapore Award under the security and safety category.

With establishments worldwide turning to technologies to help in battling possible attacks on safety and providing stringent security controls, überGARD’s innovative iKLAS (Intelligent Key Lock Application System) enhances security by controlling and tracking the usage and movement of keys without the need for continual manual monitoring, a value proposition that has allowed the homegrown firm to take its rightful place in the market alongside global competitors. iKLAS is a suite of applications built to ensure seamless operations and resolves internal control concerns raised by auditor providing sound documentation of transactions for audit trail as well as an ease in ensuring the completeness and accuracy of their customers’ records.

Besides providing better and tighter security, iKLAS also sees reduced manpower as organisations no longer require a staff member to be around 24/7 to issue keys, record key movements and generate reports.

The new touch series key management systems by iKLAS offer many new features and functions that are not available in conventional systems. Users can enjoy uncompromised experience with the 7-inch LED touch screen. With that in mind, visitors/contractors can now request access to keys. Once approved, a One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the visitors to access the systems.

Administrators can view and download transaction records directly from the system without the need of a computer or external device/system.

Administrators can also choose to allow users to login via password for a particular day in the event that user cards are left at home.

Like before, customers can continue to enjoy existing features such as the GSM modem that allows administrators to be well-informed regarding any errors, security breaches or late return of keys via SMS or email. User authentication can be set with a two-factor authentication. For an added level of security, a built-in camera takes coloured images of users.

Customers can also use the product's Centralised Management System to monitor and manage multiple systems at various locations at enterprise levels with system security functions tailored to the needs of these individual endeavours. They can also use iKLAS' API feature to seamlessly integrate with the company’s security products for hassle-free monitoring.

However, this does not mark the end for überGARD as the company looks forward to improving their work and creating value-adding products in the long run.

The Made in Singapore Awards was held on November 20 at the Conrad Centennial Singapore.

This year's nominations were judged by a panel consisting of Richard Loi, partner at SEA Consumer & Industrial Products Industry Audit and assurance leader at Deloitte & Touche LLP; Toh Kim Teck, assurance partner at Foo Kon Tan LLP; NEXIA TS Managing Director Henry Tan; and Narissa Chen, partner at Audit & Assurance Mazars LLP.
