Transit Link Pte Ltd wins in the Mobile - Transportation category at SBR's Technology Excellence Awards

The TransitLink SimplyGo App enhances commuters’ travelling experience on the public transport system.

Singapore Business Review has conferred the Mobile – Transportation Award to Transit Link Pte Ltd (TransitLink) in recognition of its efforts in developing an innovative app that offers commuters greater ease and convenience.

As the exclusive Transit Acquirer in Singapore’s Public Transport system, TransitLink provides integrated services and solutions to transport authorities, public transport operators, card managers and commuters. Recognising that today’s commuters are increasingly time-starved and tech-savvy, TransitLink created an innovative free app – the TransitLink (TL) SimplyGo app to deliver a whole suite of transit-related services that commuters can enjoy while on the go.

With the TL SimplyGo app, commuters can check their travel expenditure and fare history anytime, anywhere, without having to visit a General Ticketing Machine or TransitLink Ticket Office. This complements the hassle-free commuting experience offered by SimplyGo initiative, which was introduced by the Land Transport Authority and supported by TransitLink to enable contactless payments using bank credit/debit cards or updated CePAS cards on trains and buses.

To take advantage of the ease and convenience provided by TransitLink’s app, commuters simply have to sign up for an account. They can also opt to receive push notifications for travel fares on their mobile device each time they tap out at the end of their trip.

The TL SimplyGo app also provides other travel-related services and information, such as location-based transit services, bus and rail routes, and real-time bus arrival timings that help commuters with their journey planning. Concession card holders will delight in being able to perform a range of related transactions, such as lost concession card replacement, via the app instead of going to the TransitLink Ticket Office. Parents with young school-going children may find the Trusted Accounts function within the app particularly useful as it enables them to monitor their children’s travel card usage.

Commuters can download the TL SimplyGo app via the Apple Appstore and Google Playstore. 

The Technology Excellence Awards, presented by Singapore Business Review, was held via studio award presentations and video conferencing sessions throughout the second and third week of April.
