PSB Academy School of Postgraduate Studies clinches Provider of Largest MBA Programmes Award at the SBR Business Rankings Awards 2018

The institution plans to launch analytics postgraduate programmes to train data-savvy managers in collaboration with New Zealand’s Massey University.

Dubbed as “The Future Academy”, PSB Academy (PSBA) hosts over 12,000 students of different nationalities with an approach to education that focuses on what really matters: performance in the new economy. Along with its slate of certificate, diploma, and degree courses, PSBA also offers postgraduate programmes from the University of Newcastle and University of Wollongong’s Sydney Business School in Australia, as well as from Coventry University, Nottingham University Business School and Hull University Business School in the UK. The institution’s range of partners and variety of postgraduate options has earned it the Provider of Largest MBA Programmes Award at the SBR Business Rankings Awards 2018.

One of the institution’s notable achievements in 2018 was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with New Zealand’s Massey University in July 2018, in a bid to launch postgraduate programmes in analytics to produce data-savvy managers, as a response to the rapidly developing digital economy. These programmes are set to launch in 2019, pending regulatory approval.

In line with its vision to be the premier tertiary education provider that nurtures future talents with a global orientation, PSBA’s School of Postgraduate Studies also successfully launched the Coventry University MBA in Global Business in November. Students enrolled in the programme will be trained and educated in a range of business subjects including managerial finance, marketing, and strategic management.

Another milestone celebration for the Academy was its first successful class of graduates from the Master of Science in Engineering Business Management programme offered by Coventry University. The class included managers and professionals across the engineering, manufacturing and oil and gas sectors looking to excel further their specialised fields of work as engineers.

As part of its commitment to helping notable alumni and academics connect with current postgraduate students, and enable professional network growth at an early stage of the students’ careers, the institution also launched a series of public talks. One of these signature events PSBA hosted was the Singapore leg of ‘Nottingham in the City’ in July 2018, which is an exclusive panel discussion and professional networking event that is also held in Kuala Lumpur, London, and New York City. The event included discussions on innovations in business which featured notable University of Nottingham Alumni members, such as Grab director Ee Ling Se and The Economist director for Australia & New Zealand, India and Key Integrated Accounts Scott Munday.

“We are proud to be a recognised provider of MBA programmes in Singapore, focused on developing talent for our region. As ASEAN emerges as an economic powerhouse against a highly disrupted world, we are looking forward to working with our university partners closely, to prepare aspiring leaders to become culturally fluent, experienced, analytical thinkers who can transform their teams with innovation,” Dr. John Heng, Assistant Head, School of Postgraduate Studies, PSB Academy, said.

The Singapore Business Review Business Rankings Awards was held on November 22, 2018 at the Conrad Centennial Singapore.

On its fifth year, the SBR Business Ranking Awards 2018 applauds Singapore’s finest firms in various industries. This awards programme is exclusively for companies that made it to the ranking lists published in SBR both online and in print.

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.
