Uniting ports and shipping for decarbonisation solutions

Green Ports and Shipping Congress is the only conference to bring together ports and shipping to collaborate on the requirements to meet the IMO’s 2050 zero GHG emission targets.

Many of the challenges facing the ports and shipping sectors overlap and require collaboration to create solutions which are both financially feasible and meet the world’s needs.

Being held at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, from 8-9 May, the Green Ports and Shipping Congress builds on the Propulsion and Future Fuels conference, now in its 45th year, and the Greenport Congress and Cruise conference in its 19th year, both of which are organised by Mercator Media, who also publish the world-renowned Port Strategy, The Motorship, and GreenPort magazines.

As the first conference of its kind, this event has attracted significant support from the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH), BIMCO, Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation, Singapore Shipping Association, Blue Visby, International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA), and International Windship Association (IWSA). Speakers come from across the ports and shipping sectors and include key industry leaders from MPA, The Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation, LLoyds Register, ARUP, Ramboll, DNV, ABS, and Bureau Veritas.

In addition to the strong programme, which offers the latest news on trials and explores case studies and updates on the latest developments, there are opportunities to collaborate, discuss, network, and build relationships throughout the two-day event.

Highlights of Day One of the conference include the opening Keynote Panel on “Ports and shipping: Collaboration to achieve 2050 goals”; a future fuels session discussing future marine low and zero-carbon fuels and how these fuels hold the key to decarbonising the maritime industry; Green Finance initiatives; and Infrastructure development requirements for green fuels. Day Two features Green shipping corridor projects, Maritime digitisation, Onshore Power Supply, Green Technologies and Collaborative projects.

This is a must-attend event for all those involved in ports and shipping, including policymakers, ports and terminal operators, shipping companies, shippers and logistics companies, fuel and propulsion providers, classification societies, and associated decarbonisation clusters.
