SIA Engineering Company brings home SBR Technology Excellence Awards 2024 for eLITE platform

The company scaled up its Lean initiatives, advanced digitalisation and technology adoption to boost competitiveness.

Leading aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) organisation SIA Engineering Company took home the Digital - Aviation category win at the recently held SBR Technology Excellence Awards 2024 for its development of the Electronic Line Maintenance Integrated Technology Ecosystem (eLITE) platform to provide better support for its expanding operations.

Carried out by its line maintenance (LM) team, eLITE provides digital platform access to the latest data across operation workflow, from maintenance task planning and assignment to tracking, reporting, and task closure. It has progressively been introduced to SIA aircraft maintenance operations and third-party customers’ fleets.

It comprises four digital applications, namely: SmartMX, Joint Planning Platform (JPP), Enhanced Operation Control Centre Work Allocation Tool (EOCC WAT), and Electronic Document and Capacity Optimiser (eDCO).

The SmartMX mobile app lets engineers access maintenance manuals and tasks, including flight schedule updates on-the-go. JPP consolidates the latest planning prerequisites like aircraft ground time, resource availability and task criticality, enabling efficient packaging and enhancing accomplishment rates by operations.

The EOCC WAT helps LM officers manage massive daily tasks including manpower assignment and location of equipment. Lastly, eDCO provides engineers with access to digital task cards without needing to return to the office.

eLITE has significantly boosted LM’s productivity and reduced turnaround time. “The wealth of data gathered digitally from eLITE’s advanced rule-based optimisation engine for task selection and towing operations analytics enable SIAEC to continue our pursuit of valuable data analytics and optimisation for future innovation,” the company said.
