VAST Data establishes APJ headquarters in Singapore

Amidst AI surge, VAST Data aims to amplify its presence and influence in the Asia Pacific and Japan region.

To strengthen its foothold in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region, VAST Data has inaugurated its regional headquarters in Singapore, underlining the role of artificial intelligence (AI) and the APJ market in the company’s growth trajectory.

Sunil Chavan, Vice President for APJ at VAST Data, said that Singapore was selected for its central geographical location and burgeoning AI ecosystem, making it an ideal hub for the company’s expansion efforts. 

“Singapore is becoming a central figure in the AI revolution, making it an essential location for VAST Data’s regional headquarters,” Chavan explained. The city-state’s strategic position and focus on AI development align perfectly with VAST Data’s goals and operations.

VAST Data, a company that has carved its niche in AI-related data platforms over the past seven to eight years, recognizes the immense potential and demand within the APJ market. “From Australia to Japan, the demand for AI-related platforms is surging, positioning the Asia Pacific as a pivotal market for our expansion,” Chavan stated. 

The company’s decision to anchor in Singapore serves as a launchpad to elevate its business across the region, from South Asia to the Far East.

The tech firm has witnessed growth, doubling its annual recurring revenue from $100 million in 2023 to $200 million in 2024. This spike in valuation underscores the company's successful strategies and innovative offerings. 

To sustain this momentum, VAST Data plans to delve deeper into the APJ market, harnessing the region's dynamic growth to maintain its upward trajectory. “Our growth is not just a number; it’s a testament to our strategies and the potential of the APJ market,” said Chavan, highlighting the integral role of the Asia Pacific region in the company's expansion plans.

Chavan remains optimistic about the future, fueled by the evolving AI landscape and the rising demand for analytics. The anticipated growth in AI strategies and activities, particularly in enterprises across the APJ region, presents an opportunity for VAST Data. 

The company aims to position itself at the heart of this transformation, facilitating and enhancing AI capabilities for its customers and cloud service provider (CSP) partners. “We aim to be at the core of the AI evolution, assisting our partners and customers in harnessing the power of data,” he remarked.
