Royal Philips Electronics appoints new CEO for ASEAN and Pacific operations

Royal Philips Electronics today announced the appointment of Harjit Gill as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Philips ASEAN and Pacific, effective 1 January 2012.

In this role, Ms. Gill reports directly to Ronald de Jong, Philips’ Chief Market Leader and member of the Executive Committee of Royal Philips. Philips is looking to accelerate its growth across the ASEAN and Pacific region and the appointment of a dedicated market cluster leader is a key step to achieve this ambition.

Ms. Gill was the Senior Vice President and Cluster Leader of Philips Consumer Lifestyle, International Cluster, comprising Asia Pacific, Middle East, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe and Latin America. She has worked in several countries and in a variety of sales, marketing and general management roles during her 20 years with Philips.

In her role as market leader for Philips ASEAN and Pacific, Ms. Gill is responsible for a team of more than 10,000 staff across 10 markets and will be based in Singapore.
