About 840,000 local households to enjoy utilities rebates in Q2

They will each receive $65 worth of U-Save vouchers.

840,000 Singaporean HDB households can look forward to lighter bills in the coming quarter, as the Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced that the next installment of GST Voucher – Utilities-Save (U-Save) rebates are poised to roll out in April 2016.

According to MOF, in April 2016, eligible Singapore households will each receive U-Save vouchers of up to $65, depending on their flat type.

Annually, those residing in 1- and 2-room HDB flats will be able to offset about 3 to 4 months of utilities bills on average with their regular GST Voucher - U-Save.

Meanwhile, those living in 3- to 4-room HDB flats can offset an average of about 1 to 2 months of utilities bills on average.

GST Voucher – U-Save forms one of three components under the permanent GST Voucher scheme, designed to help lower- and middle-income Singaporean households with living expenses. The U-Save component is distributed every quarter.
