Transport management startup VersaFleet raises $2.8m in pre series A funding

It automates delivery and pickup tasks for nearly 100 companies.

Homegrown transport management startup, VersaFleet, has raised S$2.8m in Pre Series A round led by Prestella Ventures to expand its operations across Asia and enhance the capabilities of the company’s SaaS offering. 

What started out as an effort by founder Shamir Rahim to enhance the family logistic business in 2012 has grown into a transport management system that can schedule, assign and dispatch jobs, handle e-signatures, provide instant notifications and track delivery statuses in real-time.

VersaFleet automates almost one million delivery/ pickup tasks regularly for about 100 companies across Southeast Asia. The system automates logistics operations and allocates drivers’ route plans more efficiently, saving both time and money.

“With this new injection of funds and the additional expertise from our investors, we aim to double the size of our team and serve beyond 5,000 drivers worldwide. We are also looking to expand regional operations within Malaysia and Indonesia,” said Shamir Rahim, Founder & CEO of VersaFleet.

The funding will also be used to expands VersaFleet’s R&D team to incorporate AI adoption into its transport management solutions to enhance driver routes through self-learning planning algorithms and deploying additional constraints and novel supply chain designs for its current solver.
