ST Engineering joins forces with Strides to pursue global transpo projects

They entered an MOU for overseas rails, roads, and EVs.

ST Engineering and Strides International Business (Strides)—the business arm of Singapore’s public transport operator, SMRT Corporation Limited, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to pursue international projects in railways, roads, and electric vehicles (EVs).

In a joint statement, ST Engineering and Strides said they will provide technical, operational, and maintenance expertise in EV, intelligent road transportation and rail electronics for future land transportation projects in international markets.

For its part, ST Engineering will share its expertise in diesel-to-electric bus retrofit, integrated EV payment platforms, as well as smart metro solutions, road traffic management, and fleet management.

Meanwhile, Strides will provide capabilities in operations, maintenance, and service of transport and rail networks, driver and driverless transit products and systems, deployment of EVs, mobility solutions, as well as strong rail engineering and non-fare expertise, such as in transit properties.

Both companies will build train and railway systems testing and commissioning capacities in Singapore and develop joint go-to-market activities in key markets in Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East.

Currently, ST Engineering has implemented over 300 intelligent rail and road projects in more than 50 cities worldwide whilst Strides has 40 years of experience in designing, developing, operating and maintaining transport and mobility solutions, as well as delivering operation and maintenance, engineering, mobility and transit lifestyle solutions across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Chew Men Leong, president of Urban Solutions at ST Engineering, said both firms’ complementary capabilities and experience in advanced rail and road technologies will boost Smart Mobility offerings and advance their goal in expanding global presence.

“Specifically, our combined offerings in vehicle electrification will enhance our value proposition to customers who are looking to accelerate the transition of their fleets and technology infrastructure towards more sustainable transportation,” said Chew.

Lee Ling Wee, head of Strides, said both companies can bring the “unique Singapore Inc. blend” of transport solutions and services in the international market as they aim to connect communities and enhance lives through safe, reliable, sustainable transport beyond Singapore.”

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

You're the reader we write for. You're also the person our partners want to reach.

If that sentence describes you — a founder, a C-suite, someone whose attention companies pay good money for — then you already understand why SBR works. We've spent twenty years earning the trust of readers exactly like you. Which is exactly what makes this an interesting place for your company to show up, too.

The ways it can show up are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The right fit depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If your company has something this audience should know about, we'd like to hear what you're working on.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.

30 One-Sentence Stories From People Who Have Built Better Habits
None of these stories are mine. They were sent to me by readers of Atomic Habits. My hope is that these examples will illustrate how real people are putting the book into practice. They will show you what people are actually doing to build good habits and break bad ones. And hopefully, they will spark some ideas for how you can do the same.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.
