Singapore cuts May to July vehicle COE quota by 4%

24,614 certificates will be issued.

The Certificate of Entitlement (COE) quota for May 2018 to July 2018 will be 24,614, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said. Bidding under this quota will start with the first COE bidding exercise in May 2018.

According to an announcement, the quota consists of replacement COEs from vehicles deregistered in the preceding three-month period of January to March 2018 and a provision for 0.25% per annum vehicle growth for Category C (goods and vehicle buses) based on its vehicle population as at 31 December 2017.

The quota also consists of adjustments for changes in the taxi population, replacement of commercial vehicles under the Early Turnover Scheme, and expired COEs.

The vehicle growth rate from Feb 2018 onwards has been set at 0% per annum for Cat A, B and D, while that of Cat C will remain at 0.25% per annum until further review in 2020. 

The next quota announcement for the bidding period of August 2018 to October 2018 will be made in July 2018.

For the months February to April, the quota was set at 25,636 certificates.
