Scorpio Electric granted license for road tests of electric maxi-scooter
The license will be valid for 12 months.
Singapore-based electric motorcycle manufacturer Scorpio Electric has received a Special Purpose License (SPL) from the Land Transport Authority (LTA) for one unit of its flagship electric maxi-scooter, the Scorpio Electric X1 (X1).
Effective mid-July 2024, the SPL permits Scorpio Electric to perform comprehensive durability and endurance tests of the X1 on public roads for 12 months.
Scorpio Electric also received a Research & Development license plate from LTA to affix onto the X1 during its testing on Singapore public roads.
Scorpio Electric will leverage the test data to advance electric motorcycle technology and sustainable transportation solutions. The production and delivery of the X1 will commence in 2025.
