OKP secures $54.7m in LTA road resurfacing contracts

It will boost the firm’s order book to $376.8m.

The infrastructure firm has won a big fish deal with Singapore’s land transport authority for road resurfacing works along seven major expressways in the city-state.

According to a press release by OKP, its subsidiary Eng Lam Contractors, has been awarded two contracts worth S$54.7 million by the LTA for road resurfacing works along Pan Island Expressway (PIE), Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), East Coast Parkway Expressway (ECP), Seletar Expressway (SLE), Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE), Central Expressway (CTE), Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE), and other expressways.

“The road resurfacing works cover the milling of asphalt pavements, supply and laying of asphalt concrete for roads, repainting of road/raised pavement markings and related works,” the press release noted.

According to Or Toh Wat, group managing director of OKP, Eng Lam was awarded a two-year S$9.8 million contract by PUB for drainage improvement works at various locations in the western region of Singapore, including Jalan Buroh, Jalan Sampurna, Pioneer Sector 1, Tanjong Penjuru/Penjuru Road and West Coast Road/Penjuru Road.

“With these latest contracts, the total value of contracts secured in 2016 amounted to S$64.5 million and boosted the net construction order book to $376.8 million, with contracts extending to 2019. The contracts commenced on 6 June 2016 and are expected to be completed by 5 June 2018,” he added.
