LTA rolls out two new bus services

They'll be available starting 9 June.

Acording to a release, from Sunday, 9 June 2013, two new trunk bus services – Services 20 and 141 – will be launched. The new bus services will provide better connectivity for commuters travelling between Tampines and Changi Business Park, and Lorong 1 Geylang and Toa Payoh. 

These two services will be the 10th and 11th bus services to be rolled out under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme (BSEP).

Service 20

Service 20 is a loop service that will enhance connectivity for commuters travelling between Tampines and Changi Business Park. Calling at nine new bus stops in Changi South Avenue area, the service will ply along Tampines Avenue 5 and 2, Simei Street 1, 3 and 4, Simei Road, Changi South Avenue 1 and 2 before looping via Changi Business Park Central 2.

Service 20 will connect residents in Tampines and Simei to key transport nodes at Tampines, Simei and Expo MRT stations, where they can transfer to other bus services or rail lines to reach other destinations.

In addition, it will enhance inter-town connectivity by providing residents with convenient access to key amenities such as Tampines Stadium and shopping malls such as Tampines Mall and Changi City Point.

Service 141

Service 141 will provide better connectivity for commuters travelling between Lorong 1 Geylang and Toa Payoh.

From Lorong 1 Geylang Bus Terminal, the new trunk service will ply along Lavender Street, Jalan Besar, Rangoon Road, Thomson Road, Toa Payoh Rise and Lorong 1 Toa Payoh before terminating at Toa Payoh Bus Interchange.

As Jalan Besar has a one-way road network, the service will travel in the opposite direction along Gloucester Road and Serangoon Road on the return trip. This service will also call at four new bus stops along Toa Payoh Rise, Gloucester Road and Rangoon Road.

Service 141 will enhance the connectivity to key transport nodes such as Kallang, Farrer Park, Novena, Caldecott and Toa Payoh MRT stations. Additionally, it will provide commuters with convenient access to key amenities including the Jalan Besar Stadium, medical institutions such as Thomson Medical Centre, Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Novena Medical Centre and shopping malls such as City Square and Velocity@Novena Square.

Both services will operate daily from 6.00am to 11.30pm.
