Johor Bahru-Singapore RTS Link project marks progress with connecting span completion

The connecting span is 17.1 metres long.

The Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link Project saw major progress following the completion of its 17.1-metre-long connecting span,

The connecting span connects the marine viaduct between Singapore and Malaysia and is between the former’s Pier 48 and the latter’s Pier 47.

The construction of the 340-tonne connecting span involved the erection of temporary support structures between Pier 47 and Pier 48, at a height of more than 26 metres above sea level.

Following the connecting span’s construction, Malaysia and Singapore will continue works on the civil structures of the RTS Link, which will connect Bukit Chagar in Johor Bahru to Woodlands North in Singapore.

With a peak capacity of up to 10,000 passengers per hour per direction, the RTS Link will facilitate the commute between Singapore and Johor Bahru. 

The RTS Link will commence passenger service by December 2026.
