Haulio's Grab-like app for haulage companies launches in Singapore

Its system will also integrate with a cloud platform for depot operators and freight forwarders by end-2019.

Logistics-tech start-up Haulio unveiled its app Haulio Connectivity System (HCS), similar to a ride-hailing app but for haulage companies and drivers. Through the HCS interface, hauliers can view drivers and trips, whilst customers can track job progress and fulfilment.

According to an announcement, HCS complements Haulio’s existing resource pooling platform – the Haulio Community Platform (HCP). Through the app, drivers can also access an overview of their performance, trip incentives and behaviour via their HCS dashboard.

The app syncs with PSA’s Port Messaging system for easier assignment and management of jobs, and a Digital Trip Form function that can archive and record data of drivers’ daily trips. HCS also assimilates with various Transport Management Systems (TMS) to seamlessly retrieve and push relevant data for existing users.

Haulio also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Yang Kee Logistics to exclusively collaborate on integrating Haulio’s resource pooling and matching platform, HCP, with the Logistics Integrated Transport Ecosystem (LITE). Both parties will also look at adopting Haulio’s mobile application, HCS, with LITE.

LITE is a cloud-based platform that connects multiple stakeholders and intermediaries like hauliers, depot operators, and freight forwarders.

The integration of both Haulio’s and Yang Kee Logistics’ platforms is expected to be rolled out industry-wide by end 2019. Both parties expect to see over 150,000 job transactions and 900 prime movers on their combined platforms in the next three years, the announcement said.

The app is currently available on Android and iOS, and has more than 20 haulier companies signed on as beta users.
