Grab launches community initiative to enhance Tengah amenities
The platform updated its maps to improve navigation in Tengah.
Grab launched a community development initiative to support the ongoing enhancement of amenities in Tengah, Singapore's newest HDB Town.
With the “Delivering Tengah!” initiative, residents can enjoy better access to everyday services such as taxi and ride-hailing services and food and grocery delivery.
Grab uses its proprietary mapping technology to update maps with Tengah’s evolving network of roads and points of interest (POIs) for better road navigation amidst ongoing construction and to help driver- and delivery-partners find the correct pick-up and drop-off points.
Grab utilised its KartaCam 2, a car-mounted camera collecting high-quality street-level imagery for mapmaking, to map the Tengah town.
Grab also deployed the KartaCam Backpack to map footpaths for walking and cycling.
Since March, Grab has mapped six Tengah precincts, updating over 10 kilometres of roads and footpaths and over 160 POIs, including HDB block lift lobbies and businesses. Grab has shared its road and footpath data with OpenStreetMap (OSM) to benefit the broader community.
In addition, Grab will offer free delivery from over 2,000 F&B and grocery stores from 14 June to 31 December, offering residents many food options as malls and restaurants open.
Grab also offered Tengah residents promo codes such as “GRAB4TENGAH” for their GrabFood or GrabMart orders and “TRYGMG” to get 15% off orders.
