GetGo and Charge+ partner to offer shared EVs in Singapore condos
It targets equipping 100 condominiums with shared EVs and charging points by 2025.
Carsharing platform GetGo and EV charging operator Charge+ have partnered to improve electric vehicle (EV) access in Singapore’s condominiums.
The partnership aims to introduce GetGo’s EVs and Charge+’s charging infrastructure to 100 condominiums by 2025, offering residents eco-friendly transportation options at their doorstep.
The move is deemed timely as car ownership in Singapore declines, with aspirations dropping from 65% in 2016 to 50% in 2022, as per a Straits Times survey. The city-state now has 7,100 EV charging points as of July 2024, with plans to reach 60,000 by 2030 under the Singapore Green Plan.
GetGo and Charge+ will combine their expertise to provide condominium residents with shared EVs and charging stations.
The partnership also supports the growing number of EV drivers and encourages condominium management to adopt EV solutions, aligning with Singapore’s sustainability goals.
Residents can easily sign up for a GetGo account, book an EV, and recharge at Charge+ stations using the GetGo app.
By Q4 2024, GetGo will also launch a feature offering exclusive access to carsharing vehicles for condominium developers, optimizing parking and reducing the need for owned vehicles.
