Fully-vaxxed travellers may enter SG, Malaysia land borders sans testing, quarantine

Singapore and Malaysia reopened borders for fully inoculated travellers on 1 April.

Fully vaccinated travellers and non-fully vaccinated children aged 12 and below are allowed to enter land borders between Singapore and Malaysia without testing and quarantine starting 1 April 2022, the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Singapore declared.

Specifically, the allowed travellers are not mandated to undergo a pre-departure test and unsupervised self-administered antigen rapid test after arriving in Singapore, or serve a stay-home notice. This rule also applies to fully vaccinated Malaysian cargo delivery personnel.

The government also removed the mandatory application for entry approvals, such as vaccinated travel pass, for fully vaccinated travellers, but travellers should bring valid travel documents including passports, vehicle entry permits before arrival at checkpoints as those without documents will be denied entry.

Travellers may also use the vaccination check portal on the SafeTravel website to submit their digital vaccination certificates in advance. 

Aside from designated vaccinated travel bus services, fully inoculated travellers may enter land borders, such as Causeway and Second Link, through private vehicles such as cars and motorcycles. 

All travellers, including Singapore citizens, permanent residents and long-term pass holders, were ordered to complete their SG arrival card within three days before arriving at the checkpoints. Motorists should make sure that their vehicles follow emissions requirements in Singapore.

To avoid traffic congestion at checkpoints, the government asked the public to undertake urgent travel such as for employment or for reuniting with their families.
