ComfortDelGro spearheads electric vehicle charging in Singapore

Three out of five regions will be covered by this initiative.

ComfortDelGro (CDG) announced that they would serve as distributors for electric vehicle (EV) charging stations islandwide. 

This was done in partnership with ENGIE, a French energy company.

Three out of five regions for EV chargers will be covered and distributed in over 200 public carparks. CDG-ENGIE attained 479 of the 632 chargers or 75% of the stations nationwide. Covered regions include the central, east, and west segments of Singapore. 

Installations are expected to begin before the end of the year and are expected to be finished by the third quarter of 2022. 

19 bids for the project were submitted overall to the Urban Redevelopment Authority. The project is the first act towards the SG Green Plan 2030, which intends to have 60,000 charging points. 

ComfortDelGro’s Managing Director and CEO Yang Ban Seng was hopeful of the partnership’s EV initiatives.
