COE supply to fall by 3.5% by May-July

The quota will fall to 25,347 from 26,257 in January-April.

The supply of COEs for May-July will be reduced by 3.5% to 25,347 from 26,257 COEs in the January to April period, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said in a release. This translates to an average of 8,448 COEs monthly for all vehicles.

There will be 8,546 Category A COEs available in May-July, down from 1,355 last quarter. Category A are vehicles or cars up to 1600cc. This translates to an average monthy quota of 2,848.

The COEs for category B vehicles, cars above 1,600cc or maximum power output above 97kW, are at 6,834 which translates to 2,278 per month. 

There will be 2,337 COEs for the goods vehicles and buses in Category C or 779 monthly.

In Category D, which is for motorcycles, the COE quota is 5,383 which represents an increase from last quarter's quota of 4,953. The average monthly quota is 1,794.

The quota for open category vehicles will stand at 2,247, with an average monthly quota of 749.
