COE prices closed mostly lower in latest bidding exercise

The prices of category E vehicles saw the highest decline of $4,998 to $42,002.

Certificate of entitlement (COE) premiums closed mostly lower in the latest bidding exercise, an announcement revealed.

Premiums for Category B vehicles, which are larger and more powerful, declined $2,386 from the last bidding exercise to $39,728. A total of 1,346 bids were also reported.

Commercial vehicles and buses under Category C saw a $1,898 drop in premiums from the last bidding exercise in May, declining to $25,502 from $27,400.

Motorcycle COEs closed at $3,090, down from $3,202 in the last exercise.

Meanwhile, prices for open category COEs, which can be used for any vehicle type, recorded the largest decline of $4,998 and closed at $42,002.

On the other hand, premiums of category A, or cars up to 1600cc and 130bhp, rose by $3,009 to close at $30,009 from $27,000. It also received the highest amount of bids at 1,902.

A total of 5,656 bids were received in the latest bidding exercise.
