COE prices closed higher in last bidding exercise for 2018

Category A cars saw the biggest increase with premiums closing at $25,501.

Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums closed mostly higher in the lastest bidding exercise which is the last tender for 2018.

The biggest increase was seen in Category A cars which are those 1,600cc and below with horsepower not exceeding 130bhp, as premiums closed at $25,501. This is a significant increase from the nine-year low of $23,568 which was seen in the last exercise.

Premiums for Category B vehicles which are larger and more powerful remained at $31,001. 1,804 bids were also reported.

Meanwhile, COEs for commercial vehicles which include goods vehicles and buses under Category C fell $8 from $27,009 in the last bidding exercise to $27,001.

Open category COEs which can be used for any vehicle type increased from $30,851 to $31,809. A total of 778 bids for vehicles under Category E were received.

In total, 7,189 were received with a total of 5,125 COEs available.
