City Energy, Gentari to co-install EV chargers on their networks

Gentari is the second Malaysian company that City Energy worked with for EV charging.

City Energy and Gentari entered a memorandum of understanding to co-deploy publicly accessible electric vehicle chargers on each other's networks which will help in accelerating charging deployments by both parties.

In a joint statement, they said City Energy’s EV charging solution arm Go will be the first EV charging service provider to offer cross-border connectivity into Malaysia through a mobile application. 

Go now has 118 charging points across over 50 locations in Malaysia. Gentari is the second Malaysian firm City Energy partnered with for EV charging.

They said the partnership will support EV infrastructure development in Singapore and Malaysia, and will also encourage the development of a “robust” cross-border EV network that will cater to EV drivers travelling between the two countries.

The memorandum also aims to expand the understanding of the EV market and users’ behaviour in the two countries. They will also look into the best practices for mobile roaming applications in both countries.
