BlueSG to unveil charging stations for private car owners in Q1 2019

They are also eyeing to offer corporate subscription for Singapore firms.

BlueSG will launch its charging network to third party vehicles progressively by Q1 2019 as part of its bid to push for the development of electric vehicles in Singapore.

Subscribers of the service can avail of the charging in Housing and Development Board (HDB), Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), and JTC private car parks, with BlueSG eyeing the roll-out of a corporate membership for Singapore firms in the next six months.

“Packages of rental hours will be made available to a number of drivers selected by the company which will be billed directly for the usage of their employees,” the firm said in a statement.

Aside from offering the service to private car owners and corporations, BlueSG will also be installing charging stations across five CapitaLand malls, starting with four charging points at Plaza Singapura which began operations on 11 December. They noted that the tie up is in line to CapitaLand’s support for sustainable mobility.

The electric car-sharing firm also partnered with Our Tampines Hub (OTH) which is Singapore’s first-ever integrated community and lifestyle hub led by People’s Association, to open a station at OTH and provide more transport options in the vicinity. It will also be working with the Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) to install car-sharing stations in Sentosa.

“In addition, as part of SDC’s commitment to environmental sustainability and efforts to encourage car-sharing, guests entering Sentosa in BlueSG’s electric cars will enjoy free island admission from February 2019. Only BlueSG’s prevailing rental rates would apply,” they noted.

BlueSG have grown to a fleet of 300 electric vehicle Bluecar and 531 charging points at 135 stations all over Singapore in its first year from a start of 80 vehicles and 32 stations. From 2,000 members pre-registering before their launch, more than 20,000 subscriptions have been sold and they have also recorded about 100,000 rentals.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

You're the reader we write for. You're also the person our partners want to reach.

If that sentence describes you — a founder, a C-suite, someone whose attention companies pay good money for — then you already understand why SBR works. We've spent twenty years earning the trust of readers exactly like you. Which is exactly what makes this an interesting place for your company to show up, too.

The ways it can show up are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The right fit depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If your company has something this audience should know about, we'd like to hear what you're working on.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.

None of these stories are mine. They were sent to me by readers of Atomic Habits. My hope is that these examples will illustrate how real people are putting the book into practice. They will show you what people are actually doing to build good habits and break bad ones. And hopefully, they will spark some ideas for how you can do the same.
