LF Logistics Singapore receives accolade for its green logistics hub

The company won at the SBR International Business Awards 2017.

Particularly in Asia, the company recognised that the region's e-commerce market will accelerate intra-region containerised trade by 5.1% yearly, and thus it rode the tide by opening a 1m sq ft green logistics hub in Singapore.

Singapore Business Review recognised the company's initiative by giving LF Logistics Singapore the International Business Award 2017 for Logistics. Thean Siak Sin, Head of Singapore & Malaysia, LF Logistics, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

World Gateway is the largest automated and customs bonded distribution facility in Singapore set to tap into the booming e-commerce industry and serve as logistics hub for Asia and the world. The nine-story, multi-temperature warehouse leverages a suite of best-in-class technologies and product handling methods including automated storage and retrieval system, semi-automated pallet shuttle system, put-to- light pick systems and market-leading e-commerce logistics solutions. In addition, the facility is also certified to Green Mark Platinum and LEED Gold standards, reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability.

World Gateway is strategically located in Jurong West and is the company's largest distribution hub in Southeast Asia. The warehouse is designed to store up to 130,000 pallets with a throughput of 550 pallets per hour. The company's expertise in e-commerce logistics has made it the preferred e-logistics partner of choice for brands and retailers looking to expand into Asia. The SBR International Business Awards was held on June 8, 2017 at the Conrad Centennial Singapore.

This year's nominations were judged by a panel consisting of Ng Jiak See, executive director and head of corporate finance advisory at Deloitte Singapore & Southeast Asia; Choo Eng Chuan, ASEAN markets leader and partner, international and corporate tax services at Ernst & Young Solutions LLP; Toh Kim Teck, assurance partner at Foo Kon Tan LLP; and Henry Tan, managing director at NEXIA TS.
