Singtel launches data-free streaming with Apple Music

It will be available to postpaid customers for a fee of $9.98 a month.

Singtel will start offering data-free streaming with Apple Music for its postpaid customers at a subscription fee of $9.98 per month.

According to an announcement, new and re-contracting customers who sign up for the service will have six months subscription absolutely free with no minimum contract.

Apple Music offers subscribers an incredible catalogue of more than 45 million songs, combined with their entire iTunes library, which consumers can stream or download for offline listening all completely ad-free.

Singtel’s data-free Apple Music is available on iOS and Android devices, including Apple Watch Series 3.

Singtel and other telcos in Singapore are finding ways to regain market share that they are currently losing to mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) like Circles.Life, which has started to offer $0 plans. It expects “unexciting” earnings growth ahead as consolidated revenue could grow by low single digit.
