Samsung offers refund to Galaxy Note 7 customers in Singapore

They can also exchange their handsets for another device.

After several safety concerns and reports that clouded what could have been its best smartphone offering, Samsung decided to give back to its customers in Singapore by offering a refund for their Galaxy Note 7 devices.

In a statement, Samsung revealed two ways in which their customers can avail of the resolution.

"Singapore customers will be able to exchange their Galaxy Note 7 for another device, with a refund of the price difference between devices. Alternatively, they may return their Galaxy Note 7 for a refund," Samsung said in a statement.

The mobile company said it is in talks with telco players and retail partners regarding the details on how Note 7 customers can go about the exchange or refund.

"All Galaxy Note 7 customers are urged to take up the options when these are made available to them. Samsung is also looking into remedies for Galaxy Note 7 customers who purchased the Samsung Concierge service," Samsung said.

It was only yesterday when Samsung decided to stop the production and sales of Galaxy Note 7. This came after it recalled over 2.5 million handsets in early September after numerous reports of the phone catching fire.
