MyRepublic launches Singapore's first 2Gbps home broadband

It's the world's cheapest broadband next to Japan.

Not letting up on its struggle to become Singapore's 4th distinguished telco, MyRepublic launched its new bundle at a rate of 3 cents per Mbps. The launch came less than a week after the budding telco announced its upcoming free mobile data trial.

According to MyRepublic, to shoulder the strains of delivering 2Gbps to a home, it will also launch its own dedicated cabling service.

“The technology to activate two 1Gbps lines to someone’s home isn’t new, just like how 1Gbps plans existed before we came into the market,” said Yap Yong Teck, Managing Director for MyRepublic Singapore.

"Any MyRepublic customer looking to wire up their home can register for a free site survey where a MyRepublic certified technician will visit the premises, evaluate the layout, and offer customised cabling solutions. Customers not satisfied with the proposed solution are under no obligation to take up the cabling service after the site survey," said the report by MyRepublic.
