M1 to retire 3G network services in August
M1 will invest in new 5G services.
M1 will retire all 3G services, including voice, messaging and data, with effect from 1 August and invest in new 5G services.
M1 will repurpose some of the freed-up spectrum to improve its 5G services which will offer faster speeds, higher data throughput, and better security and reliability.
The telco is proactively helping customers transition from 3G to 4G and 5G networks. All M1 mobile customers are now on either 4G or 5G plans.
In addition, M1 is offering upgrade promotions, including a no-contract option to get a new handset for $168 and extra discounts for trading in 3G devices.
