The lab will accelerate cutting-edge research of future communications technologies.
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) have launched the first physical 6G lab in Southeast Asia.
According to IMDA, the Future Communications Connectivity (FCC) Lab will accelerate cutting-edge research on future communications technologies.
The lab will also look to “unlock breakthroughs in 6G research and support emerging technologies such as holographic communications and intelligent sensing capabilities to support the next generation of self-driving cars and drones,” said IMDA.
IMDA Chief Executive Lew Chuen Hong said the lab’s launch marks the start of Singapore’s efforts “to tap into the promise of future communications tech and become a global node of excellence.”
