Asian Pay TV Trust manager taps Somnath Adak as new CEO

He will succeed Brian McKinley after his resignation on 31 July.

Asian Pay Television Trust’s (APTT) manager announced the resignation of its CEO, Brian McKinley, on 31 July.

Somnath Adak, current chief financial officer (CFO), will succeed McKinley on 1 August.

Subsequently, Annie Koh will assume the role of Financial Controller and take over CFO duties, effective 1 August.

Both McKinley and Adak have been with the trustee-manager since APTT’s listing in 2013 and were appointed CEO and CFO, respectively, in 2017. They have steered APTT through challenges in Taiwan’s telecom market, improving its financial health and managing debt.

Koh is a Chartered Accountant with 17 years of finance, banking, and audit experience. Before her appointment, she was the COO of KPMG Singapore’s audit division.

Koh will work closely with Miranda Cheng, CFO of APTT’s sole investment, Taiwan Broadband Communications Group (TBC).

In addition, three independent directors, Ong Joo Mien, Tan Chung Yaw, and Leong Shin Loong, will be stepping down from the board on 15 July.

Concurrently, Stephen Ho Chiming and Calvin Zhang will join the board on the same date.
