Shanghai widens lead over Singapore as busiest box port
The gap last year was about 1 million boxes.
Shanghai completes a five-year streak of being the world’s busiest container port, widening the gap further between it and closest rival Singapore.
According to Bloomberg, Singapore’s Maritime & Port Authority recorded 33.9 million 20-foot containers last year. Shanghai expects to process about 35.2 million boxes.
