Sembcorp inks Heads of Terms for green ammonia deal with Sojitz and Kyushu Electric
The partners aim to supply Japan with green ammonia from India.
Sembcorp Green Hydrogen, Sembcorp Industries' (Sembcorp) unit, has signed the Heads of Terms with Sojitz Corporation and Kyushu Electric Power, setting the stage for a green ammonia offtake deal.
The development builds on the 2023 MoU by Sojitz and Kyushu Electric Power to supply Japan with green ammonia from India, with Sembcorp as the lead developer and operator.
As lead developer and operator, Sembcorp will utilise renewable energy to produce an initial 200,000 metric tonnes per annum of green ammonia in India.
This signing is not expected to have a material impact on the earnings per share and net tangible assets per share of Sembcorp for the financial year ending December 31, 2024.
