Scorpio East Holdings names Toh Tian Sze as Director

Mr Toh is the founder of Lian Bee Hardware Trading Company in 1982.

The Board having considered Lian Bee’s request for a Board seat, the shareholder’s loan and Mr Toh’s business and management background and experience, is of the opinion that Mr Toh’s appointment as Non-Executive Director is beneficial to the Group.

Mr Toh, 61, founded Singapore-incorporated Lian Bee Hardware Trading Company in 1982. In 1989, Mr Toh became the Chairman of Lian Bee Metal Pte. Ltd. (“Lian Bee”), a company that is in the business of cutting and bending of steels, reinforcement bars and scrap metals, according to a Scorpio East Holdings report.

Mr Toh has accumulated more than 30 years of industry and management experience. Under Mr Toh’s leadership, Lian Bee has achieved a turnover in excess of S$56 million for the financial year ended 30 September 2011 and has received several awards, the more recent ones being the Singapore Brands Award (2011) and Promising SME 500 Award (2012). Lian Bee had in 2006 expanded its business scope to include investments in properties.
