Duty Free International names Dato' Megat Hisham bin Megat Mahmud as director

He has held executive director and CEO post in three Malaysian companies.

The Board of Duty Free International announced the appointment of Dato' Megat Hisham bin Megat Mahmud as independent non-executive director.

Dato' Megat, 56, will also be chairman of the Audit Committee and member of Remuneration Committee.

Dato Megat was the executive director and chief executive officer of Malaysia Discounts Berhad (a discount house in Malaysia) from February 2000 to June 2001, Amanah Short Deposits Berhad (a discount house in Malaysia) from July 2001 to January 2005; and MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Berhad (an investment bank in Malaysia) from January 2005 to December 2011, according to a Duty Free International report.

His main responsibilities included the overall management of the business; implementation of strategic direction and business development; ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines of relevant authorities in Malaysia, in particular, Bank Negara Malaysia and Securities Commission; ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures; and supervision and development of key personnel, of the respective financial institution.
